Our venture into reading with a partner this week all started with sock puppets. We are so thankful that Ms. Slade has a busy household and many feet with many socks. She explained the mystery of the washing machine and how what goes in doesn't always come out. This means luck for us as the many missing socks found a home as a sock puppet who would teach us all the important things about a partner read. We stay in one place, four eyes are on one book, we take turns reading (either pictures/words/or retelling using pictures and words) and we know this is a very important activity. PRACTICE creates readers, SHARING creates enjoyment and a love of books. So here is something for you to think about, who do you like to share books with? What kind of books do you share?
